Why do I need to update my software?
We recommend that everyone use the current versions available from the AcidImage website. Even if your handheld came with a trial version or you recently downloaded the software from a website other than the AcidImage website, you still may not have the latest version available.
- The new versions have been updated to run on the new Palm OS handhelds and include new and enhanced features that you don't want to miss.
- If you just got a new handheld, we recommend installing the latest version available to make sure the software runs on your new device and takes advantage of the all the new features of your handheld.
- If your UnlockCode stops working and your RegID changes every time you HotSync, installing the latest version should help.
How do I find out what version I currently have installed?
There are two ways to check what version you currently have installed.
From within the software application:
- Tap the Menu icon in the graffiti area
- Select the "About" menu listed across the top of the screen
- Select the "About..." option
- The version number will be listed toward the bottom of this screen
From the Home/Application Launcher screen:
- Tap the Home icon in the graffiti area
- Tap the Menu icon in the graffiti area
- Select "Info" from the drop down App menu at the top of the screen
- Select the "Version" view by tapping on the "Version" button at the bottom of the screen
- The version number will be listed next to the application name.

How do I update my software to the latest version?
Updating is easy. Simply download the software and install it directly over your old version.
Installing a .prc file is usually as simple as double-clicking it on your desktop computer. If that doesn't work, start the Palm Install Tool or Palm Quick Install on your desktop computer, and drag-and-drop the .prc file to the Palm Install Tool. Then HotSync your handheld, and the new version will be installed.
Note: All statistics and registration information should remain intact.
How do I upgrade to the next level?
Registered users of AcidImage Basic and AcidImage (standard version) can upgrade to AcidImage or AcidImage Pro for a reduced price. Information on upgrading your registered copy of AcidImage is available here.
My RegID changes every time I HotSync. What do I do?
If your UnlockCode isn't working, and your RegID is changing when you HotSync, you need to update that product to the latest version. After installing the updated version, your RegID will change one last time! We can then send you a working UnlockCode.
Visit the UnlockCode Wizard to get a new UnlockCode.
Are software updates free?
AcidImage software updates are free to registered users. There is no charge to download the latest available versions. If you need a new UnlockCode, visit the UnlockCode Wizard to get a new UnlockCode.
How do I get a new UnlockCode?
It is easy to get a new UnlockCode. Registered users can submit a request using the UnlockCode Wizard. Your UnlockCode will be sent to you automatically via email.
If you are not yet a registered user and would like to purchase an UnlockCode, you can purchase a 14-digit UnlockCode from the AcidImage store.
Download and install the latest version
Select the product below that you would like to download. Save the .prc file to your computer. Add the .prc file to your Palm Install Tool or Quick Install. Perform a HotSync to complete the installation process on your handheld.
