View File Types [back to top]
View native image files directly on your handheld. No need to first convert the file to a special format on your computer. AcidImage supports all the common file types.
If your camera uses the same memory storage device (memory card, Memory Stick) as your handheld, you can take your memory card directly from your camera, pop it in your handheld and view your pictures!
JPEG [back to top]
All versions of AcidImage support viewing JPEG (including progressive JPEG) image files.
JPG, JPEG, or Joint Photographic Experts Group Format images have lossy compression (some data is discarded so that it can be compressed more). This is a common format used when saving photographs.
GIF and BMP [back to top]
Standard and Pro version only
GIF and BMP, two other common image file types, are supported in the Standard and Pro versions of AcidImage.
GIF, or Graphics Interchange Format uses lossless compression. The image quality might not be that high, but there are sharp edges.
This is one of the reasons why it is used on web pages for small graphics.
BMP, or Bitmap Format uses a pixel map which contains line by line information.
This format can cause an image to be quite large.
TIFF [back to top]
Pro version only
TIF, TIFF, or Tagged Image File Format a common format for faxes. AcidImage Pro supports many different types of TIFF files in addition to FAX, including color and multi-page TIFFs.
Fax to email users can use AcidImage Pro to view their fax email attachments on the go. Simply set your email fax settings to receive faxes as TIFF files and view them with AcidImage Pro.
Additional information on how to receive and view faxes with AcidImage Pro on a Treo is available here.
Send Images [back to top]
Standard and Pro version only
Share your photos!
Send images to a friend's handheld via infrared or Bluetooth. Resizing-on-the-fly makes it quick and easy to send
your entire collection of pictures, even if they came from a high-end digital camera.
You can also send images as email attachments. Just select your favorite email application from the "Send With"
list, and a new email will be launched with the image as an attachment. If you choose to resize the images on the fly,
you can choose an image size more appropriate for sending via email.

View Faxes [back to top]
Pro version only
Great solution for mobile email users who want to view faxes on the go.
 |
Mobile fax to email users can receive and view their multi-page fax email attachments (.TIFF format) directly on their Palm OS handheld with AcidImage Pro. No conversion needed. No convoluted workaround. Simply view your fax on your handheld just as you would on your computer back at the office. Advanced anti-aliasing improves the quality of the fax image so you can read even the fine, grainy detail. Zoom in, zoom out, pan around to easily view your fax.
|
Make sure that your email application supports the Palm OS exchange manager. That is, the email application must be able to launch another third party application (such as AcidImage) to view the attachment.
Not all Palm OS email software currently supports opening attachments in their native form. More information on compatible email applications is available here.
